Forbes magazine and CEO Challenges Release List of Top 25 Fittest CEOs of the Decade, Brian Weaver Ranked 8th
Overland Park, KS – March 25, 2011
Anthem Media Group founder and CEO Brian Weaver has been described throughout the media industry with words like entrepreneur, savvy, and strategic. “Fit” might be just as appropriate. While most senior executives are busy making decisions, solving problems and meeting with clients, working hours of the day most of us sleep through, some add even more complexity to their day by finding time to train for the world’s elite endurance races. And of those executives, Weaver has been recognized as one of the best — garnering the 8th spot on Forbes magazine and CEO Challenges list of “25 Fittest CEOs of the Decade.”
As a world leader in sport competitions, CEO Challenges analyzed more than 10 years of race results and compiled a benchmark list of CEOs that hold esteem as the World’s Fittest. Listed among the ranks are executives from all over the globe including California, Italy, Austria, Ontario, New York and of course Overland Park, Kansas.
Recent highlights of Weaver’s top-tier athletic career include a class podium at the USAT Midwest Championships and a Top 10 class finish at Ironman Austin, where Weaver led the cycling leg and battled back from severe cramping due to heat to finish with an impressive time of 4:39. In addition, Weaver has earned overall and class wins and several podium finishes in open endurance running events and international distance triathlons.
“Overseeing a media portfolio like Anthem’s is certainly challenging. I’m fortunate that I love what I do and enjoy working closely with our companies’ clientele. Training and competing, for me, is not a luxury. It has become a necessity. It has made me a better leader and decision maker,” said Weaver.
“There are many demands for my time during the day, whether from clients, colleagues, friends or family. When I train, I find myself able to better focus on root issues, whether that’s solving a business problem for a client or considering strategy for one of my companies. It’s forced me to be incredibly efficient and more effective.”
With Forbes as a partner, CEO Challenges is shedding more light on the fact that “a fit CEO is more effective in business.” Ted Kennedy of CEO Challenges adds, “The goal is to reinforce how important it is for top executives to be fit and healthy. It’s a simple fact…the healthier and fitter the person, the better their performance.”
It sounds like Weaver and CEO Challenges is on to something. Since its inception in 2001, Anthem Media Group’s portfolio of companies have grown at an astounding rate and today includes entities that specialize in cutting edge messaging, social media, lead generation, sports marketing, and content development activities. Anthem’s companies have had a long-standing presence in the auto racing world, performing sales and marketing duties for 21 major racetracks around the world that host NASCAR, Indy Car and AMA motorcycle events.
